The House and Senate have drained themselves of power and relevance.
As the midterms approach, the conventional wisdom holds that Democrats are virtually guaranteed victory. The narrative assumes that voters, disillusioned with Trump’s failed “concept of a plan” economic policies and vanity projects and frustrated by the GOP’s failure to deliver the financial security they promised and restore the nation’s moral rectitude, will sweep Democrats into power.
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson finalized the Republican plank for the upcoming midterm election. It will not be about affordability, inflation, and the economy. It will not be about Trump’s undeclared war. The position going forward will be about communism.
The senator represented my state in Congress for three decades. This is what I saw.
