As the midterms approach, the conventional wisdom holds that Democrats are virtually guaranteed victory. The narrative assumes that voters, disillusioned with Trump’s failed “concept of a plan” economic policies and vanity projects and frustrated by the GOP’s failure to deliver the financial security they promised and restore the nation’s moral rectitude, will sweep Democrats into power.
Capitalism’s rise concentrated property, corrupted courts, and birthed a two-party dictatorship. The Civil War ended slavery, yet the bourgeoisie had already buried popular rule.
Against the odds, the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the US and Iran appears to be holding, after threats and counter-threats. It may collapse, but it has survived a first round of talks between the two sides in Switzerland over the weekend.
These moves were planned years in advance, and would have been rolled out regardless of what impotent meat puppet happened to be wheeled into office in January 2025.
